Clayton Ellis is the Principal of East Middle School, where he believes in inspiring students to achieve their goals and aspirations by building strong relationships, setting high expectations and providing rigorous content.

Principal Ellis's educational career spans 20+ years in the classroom, where he developed deep connections with students and families and innovated ways to build relationships. His leadership journey expanded to include roles as Dean of Students at both the elementary and middle school levels. Before joining Shakopee Public Schools, he served as an Associate Principal at Eden Prairie High School and at the elementary level. This diverse experience across all three educational levels provides him with a comprehensive understanding of middle school students—where they are, where they've been and where they're headed.
